Every child throughout the school belongs to a house:
Any child who reaches the top of the class chart will earn a house point. House points are also awarded for:
- Exceptional behaviour
- Good sportsmanship
- Representing the school well, e.g. on trips, with visitors etc…
- Outstanding effort
- Star of the Week (pupils will automatically receive a house point)
- Midday Supervisors will be able to recommend those pupils who they feel deserve house points. The class teacher will then award them.
House points are given in the form of a coloured castle. The Y6 children add up the weekly totals and they are announced in the 'Star of the Week' assembly. A running total is kept so that at the end of each term the house with the highest overall number of points will be rewarded with a ‘treat’. This may be in the form of an additional break time, an activity afternoon or a picnic. This treat will be decided upon by the members of the School Council following discussions with their classes.
You can keep up-to-date with the latest house point scores by looking at our weekly newsletters or by looking at the bottom of the Home page.
